“Having been in the Construction Industry all my life, my world has been surrounded with straight lines and level surfaces. However, my life changed almost overnight when I discovered my artistic flair using the medium of wood.

I now look at almost everything in a different light, and, like most artists, get my inspiration from nature.

Nature has a very large influence on my work, but there are many other things that open my mind.

Almost every object I encounter I study for shape and texture, from a manhole in the street to the natural sponges of the sea. All these items have some sort of influence on my work, and I assess how these inspirational thoughts can be incorporated into my pieces.

Pots and urns from the past now hold as many wonders in terms of shape, colour and texture, as the wild seas. My aim is to incorporate these with the natural beauty of the variety of woods that are available. Using texture and colour I endeavour to enhance each piece of work to show it's form and natural beauty.”
